CONTEXT
IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement) is a French non-governmental organization founded in 1988 and operating in the field of social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main sectors of action are vocational training and professional integration, assistance to micro and small enterprises and access to education and health for the most vulnerable. In Lebanon, IECD has been operating in the country since 1994 and opened a regional office in Beirut in 2007.

Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training.
In a context of strong growth of its activities in Lebanon, IECD is looking for a Finance and compliance Intern to contribute to ensuring an effective and strong internal control system, and to assist the audit and support team in the day-to-day tasks.
MISSION
- Assist in gathering, verification and organizing supporting documents and records to prepare for external audits.
- Ensure proper electronic documentation and scan the documents for archiving.
- Help match expenses with proof of payment and ensure proper documentation storage.
- Help follow up on interim audit reports and ensure timely action is taken by relevant departments.
- Contribute to the identification and regularization of discrepancies during financial reviews.
- Ensure all audit engagements comply with internal procedures and donor requirements.
- Assist in conducting monthly spot checks on vouchers based on internal random selections.
- Compile and gather necessary documentation for compliance audit missions, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Assist in identifying areas for improvement in audit processes and ensure proper storage of documentation.
- Assist the finance team in tracking and monitoring general expenses, including transportation and telephone costs, across multiple projects.
- Assist the finance and administrative teams in improving existing tools, procedures, and workflow processes.
- Attend finance and audit meetings and take notes on discussions, action plans, and next steps.
Profile / Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Audit, Accounting, or other related fields.
- Experience: Fresh graduate. First experience in an Audit Firm or in the Finance/Accounting department is a plus.
- Language: Proficiency in Arabic, Proficiency in French and/or English.
Skills:
- Excellent proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
- Autonomy, dynamism, and ability to take initiative
- Team-oriented with a strong sense of teaching and guidance
- Interest and motivation for international solidarity and development

CONDITIONS
Period of Internship: 6 months.
Position based: Beirut, Lebanon
Under the responsibility of: Finance manager
Indemnity range: 150 USD + Transportation fees per attendance day as per policy
