CONTEXT

IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développementis a French non-governmental organization founded in 1988 and operating in the field of social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main sectors of action are vocational training and professional integration, assistance to micro and small enterprises and access to education and health for the most vulnerable. In Lebanon, IECD has been operating in the country since 1994 and opened a regional office in Beirut in 2007.

Semeurs d’Avenir (SDA) is a Lebanese association, created in 2010, registered under the number 1905. It is the operational partner of IECD in Lebanon.

Semeurs D’avenir follows zero tolerance policy for fraud, bribery, corruption, and conflict of interest. SDA has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries. Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, always (both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training.

IECD and Semeurs d’avenir wish to recruit a Communication and Marketing Manager to oversee the communication department.

Mission

Under the supervision of Country Director Lebanon & Regional Director Eastern Mediterranean, the Communication and Marketing Manager will be responsible of the following:

 1. Team Leadership:

  • Manage and lead the Communications Department’s team, ensuring a collaborative, agile and high-performing work environment.
  • Grow the team members, and ensure they develop their skills and competencies.
  • Oversee outsourced services and freelancers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

2. Provide visibility to projects and IECD dynamics:

  • Support visibility given to projects in their activities (kicking-off, implementing, celebrating…), including accountability to donors and financial partners.
  • Establish and maintain coordination on communication topics with both projects and transversal teams, to ensure integration of communication efforts. Identify opportunities for storytelling.
  • Member of the group of Key Leaders of IECD-SDA in Lebanon, and as such be involved in high-level dynamics and coordination that will drive the organization ahead.
  • Enhance IECD-SDA’s visibility as an international solidarity organization operating in Lebanon and in the Mediterranean region.

3. Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and update communication procedures, reports, and the overall communication strategy to align with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the concept, design, and production of all visibility tools, including but not limited to websites, brochures, and promotional materials.
  • Put in place a marketing strategy for IECD-SDA: suggest new ways of presenting the several projects; create useful templates and other documents for fundraising and marketing; analyze the data and effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

4. Social Media Management:

  • Supervise the organization’s social media networks, including content creation, scheduling, and ads management.
  • Develop a targeted social media strategy to enhance the organization’s online presence.

5. Event Organization:

  • Organize and oversee national-level events such as job fairs, inauguration events, as well as local events like workshops and career open days.
  • Supervise the creation of media tools for events and coordinate with journalists, local partners, and international collaborators.

6. Interactions with other Mediterranean, HQ, and other IECD countries:

  • Actively contribute to regional communication dynamics in the Mediterranean region with other IECD countries of operations. Support the IECD teams that do not yet have internal resources dedicated to communication.
  • Cooperate with the Headquarters in Paris, providing updates and collaborating on the development and improvement of communication tools and strategies. Participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall communication effectiveness of the global IECD organization.
  • On a case-by-case basis, interact and cooperate with other IECD countries of operations located beyond the Mediterranean region.

Profile / Education:  

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 6 years of proven experience in managing communication teams and implementing successful communication strategies.
  • Knowledge and experience of marketing tools and dynamics.

Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Event management experience is highly desirable.
  • Mastery of English, French, and Arabic.
  • Agility and capacity to innovate and bring forward new ideas.
  • Commitment to the values and dynamics of an international solidarity organization.

CONDITIONS

Period of employment: 1 year renewable

Position based in Beirut, with regular trips in the country.

2000 – 2500 USD
