Project Officer

IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement) is a French non-governmental organization founded in 1988 and operating in the field of social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main sectors of action are vocational training and professional integration, assistance to micro and small enterprises and access to education and health for the most vulnerable. In Lebanon, IECD has been operating in the country since 1989.

Semeurs d’Avenir (SDA) is a Lebanese association, created in 2010, registered under the number 1905. It is the operational partner of IECD in Lebanon.

IECD and Semeurs d’ Avenir are recruiting a project officer to assist the project manager in the implementation of the activities.

MISSION

Under the responsibility of the Youth Development project manager, the Project officer will be responsible of:

1/ Activities’ implementation and coordination

• In coordination with the project manager, plan and organize activities such as trainings, events, bootcamps…timeline according to the global action plan and to the beneficiaries’ availabilities.
• Prepare contracts and ensure that contracts approval chain is validated.
• Ensure the logistics and coordination of the activities.
• Take a role in the development and adaptation of the activities.

• Monitor the outreach and selection of beneficiaries.
• Coordinate with the external consultants for the activities’ implementation (logistics, follow-up…).

2/ Follow up

• Set up a clear follow-up during and after the activities’ planning in coordination with the project manager,
• Implement beneficiaries’ follow-up visits during and after the activities.
• Work on employability tools to enhance the placement of the Beneficiaries.
• Collect qualitative and quantitative data on project performance and impact on beneficiaries and recommend needed improvement.

3/ Reporting

• In coordination with the MEAL Coordinator, collect quantitative and qualitative data in accordance with the project log frame, by working on the internal M&E tools.

4/Others:

• In coordination with the Communication department, involve in an active way in the social media visibility of the project by identifying success stories, and testimonies, and sharing updates of activities with the communication manager to be posted on social media.

PROFILE

Education: Technical or University degree in development, economics, business management, Industrial field or other relevant fields.

Experience: 3-to-5 years’ experience.

Previous experience in NGOs or international organizations is a plus.

Required skills and competencies:

• Excellent interpersonal and facilitation
• Good skills in Microsoft Pack.
• Strong motivation to work in the field with various profiles of beneficiaries and consultants.
• Adaptability and excellent listening.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Show initiative and be able to work independently.
• Good organizational skills, ability to co-develop and follow a detailed project plan.
• Ability to identify project objectives and work towards reaching them.
• Native command of the Arabic language and a good level of spoken and written English or French.

CONDITIONS

Under the supervision of: Youth Development Project Manager

Location: Beirut with visits to all the Lebanese territories.

Period of employment: 1 year renewable
