Context

IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement) is a French non-governmental organization founded in 1988 and working in social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main areas of work include vocational training and professional integration, support to micro and small enterprises, and access to education and health for vulnerable populations.

In Lebanon, IECD has been active since 1994 and opened a regional office in Beirut in 2007.

Semeurs d’Avenir (SDA) is a Lebanese association created in 2010 and registered under number 1905. It is the operational partner of IECD in Lebanon.

IECD and SDA are recruiting a Procurement Intern to support procurement, assets, and warehouse-related activities.

Mission

Under the supervision of the Procurement officer, the Procurement Intern will support the procurement function and help ensure smooth operations across Lebanon in line with IECD and SDA policies and procedures.

The intern will assist in the procurement of goods and services, follow up on documentation, support communication with suppliers, and contribute to maintaining organized procurement records.

Main Responsibilities

Procurement Support

  • Assist in reviewing purchase requests and checking that required information and approvals are complete.
  • Support the preparation of procurement documents such as RFQs, RFPs, and ITBs.
  • Help collect quotations and offers from suppliers.
  • Assist in comparing offers and preparing simple bid analysis summaries.
  • Support the preparation of purchase orders and other procurement-related documents.
  • Follow up with suppliers on quotations, delivery timelines, and required documents.
  • Support the procurement team in ensuring that purchases follow IECD/SDA procedures and donor requirements.
  • Help keep procurement files properly organized in soft and hard copy for audit and record-keeping purposes.
  • Update procurement trackers and provide regular status updates when needed.

Supplier and Market Support

  • Help maintain and update the supplier database.
  • Support market assessments and supplier mapping to identify new vendors.
  • Assist in following up on supplier performance, delivery timelines, and responsiveness.
  • Support communication with suppliers regarding documentation or clarifications.

Profile / Education:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or currently pursuing studies in one of these areas.
  • A background in procurement or supply chain is an advantage.
  • Engineering studies are a plus.

Skills:

  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn procurement processes and procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

  • Adaptable and able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.

CONDITIONS

  • Remuneration: 250USD + transportation
  • Period of employment: 6 months
  • Position based in Beirut
